Welcome to our Classroom Pages
Hola! I'm glad you made it here. I'm an art, design and humanities educator that teaches in Muhlenberg County. I've gotten interested in helping students create projects that also utilize technology. I want to make lessons relevant to my students so they can be prepared for tomorrow and fit in with the global workforce! I try to think of myself as teacher who believes it's possible to give our rural children an international education. Understand that our MNHS students can become interconnected with the world using technology. Since 'tech' is changing our educational landscape I've decided to join my students in blogging, uploading art and creating web pages. It's a lot of work but I hope that once I build this site it can be easily updated and grow with me as a teacher.
This website is my personal project that is always under construction but feel free to drop suggestions for my pages! Sharing information makes life easier for all of us. It's great to receive e-mails about YOUR favorite educational/digital links. Positive comments from my students and their parents can make my day too!
With this introduction I'd like to share one of my personal interests. The history channel is my favorite channels and if you find a movie that showcases a cool archeologist it would probably be a favorite of mine. My favorite character in modern movies would have to be Indiana Jones! This brings up traveling to interesting places. I had always wanted to visit southern Mexico and see Chichén Itzá . That dream was realized in this photo I wanted to share. Many people think this is one of the 7 Wonders of the World. In actuality though, it's one of the NEW 7 Wonders! Check them out!

Personal Interests / Reading Suggestions
for Educators
I'm a huge fan of Daniel H. Pink. I first heard about his work at the Model School Conference during the Summer of 2007. Discussion of his book A Whole New Mind by speaker Ray McNulty was the highlight of the conference for me. This is one of the New York Times best sellers. The book addresses a move from the 'information age' to the 'conceptual age'. This book also tells how important the arts are in the change. If you ever get an offer to go to the The Model School Conference I highly recommend this for anyone interested in the future of education. They encourage a program that includes a rigor, relevance and relationships focus. Feel free to click on the conference highlighted above to learn more about the conference. There is also link to more information about Daniel H. Pink and his work Here.
