Let's Share our Projects!
Enjoy using this free reproducible I have enjoyed for years (it's from Tech-4-Learning). It's a free storyboard template they provide to make it easy to visualize a story. My students have used this for two years and they love it! This is an essential part of my animation lesson. Research proves that projects like clay animation engages multiple intelligences. If your interested in doing your own clay animation and need tips let me know. It's easy. A camera, clay, and iMovie or Windows Moviemaker program can make one of your lessons come to life with a little creativity. Tech-4-Learning has a kit check out their video introduction with this link and they explain the process with a small video clip:

The video starts out slow but then it gets interesting later on. You can buy the kit if you like Dell's OR you can save money and use our iPhoto, iMovie & Garageband programs in the mac lab/library.
Good Thoughtful Education Links
Marshall County Schools, Kentucky has a great site for downloads! If your a teacher and you need a quick printable this is a good place to look.
Muhlenberg County Schools, Kentucky has taken the lead from other counties and got this up for the 2008 school year and hopefully this will be there for all of us in the future.
Reading for Meaning in Art.
We've been looking for a good way to integrate famous quotes related to art in our general art classes and a 'Reading for Meaning Organizer' works great to accomplish this task. It works as an easy bellringer that works easily with my students creative projects. It enhances their vocabulary as we discuss words that are used from various 'quotes' throughout art history.
The first time I did this bell ringer the word abolishionist was associated with a writer that had a great art quote; before we finished everyone in the room knew what this word actually meant! I highly recommend using this organizer I have added below to any subject area with quotes related to your field of study.

Word Walls Go Digital?
Some students want to work digitally to make word walls and blogs. It would be a cool project to do these. Programs like iMovie, Powerpoint, or even Weebly could be used to do these and then showcase on Teacher Tube.
In humanities I can have students work in pairs to create word walls that are interactive even (if they are web based). Students could link words to the wikipedia. This helps those teachers like myself whose walls are covered with artists/terms & things we must hang up. With little room in-house to show off projects on my walls it creates the opportunity to have unlimited space (something I struggle with every day as an art teacher).
If your a Humanities Teacher in the state of Kentucky you should check out the link below!
You can link to the KET toolkit Glossary to make these walls here!
